HQ Round 5: Irish Primary School Geography

Lá Fhéile Pádraig shona dhiabh, Happy St Patrick’s Day to one and all. It seems fitting that today’s round involves a large map of Ireland!
Marked on the map are 10 geographical features, the names of which were drilled into all of us back in primary school (if you went to school in Ireland, that is). The question is: how many of them can you remember now?

HQ Round 2: TV themes

After much ado, here (“at last” I hear you say) is the TV Theme Tunes round.
Sorry for yesterday’s snafu. My media hosting site is working again so I can now upload the sound files.
After the more… you will find samples of the theme tunes from 10 TV shows, past and present. All you have to do is decide which show each comes from.

Couple of challenging ones here. A lot of teams struggled with numbers 6 and 10. At a guess, I’d say this is down to it not being very well known that these two individuals go by stage names.

Unfortuntely the site where I host media files is on the blink today so round two, TV Theme tunes, will have to wait until tomorrow. In the meantime, let’s skip ahead to round three, Real names.
This round has a simple concept. Loads of famous people are known by stage names, pseudonyms or professional titles. Here I will give you the birth names of 10 famous people and you have to say by what name is each person better known. As an extra help I’ll also give you their date of birth and where they were born.

It’s the morning after the night before and all is well with me. We had a great turnout for the Habitat for Humanity quiz in Brandon’s Bar and I’m pretty sure everyone had a good time.
Starting today, I’m going to put up a round from the quiz each day. There were 10 rounds on the night so you’d be forgiven for thinking that this will take 10 days. However, one of the rounds (Song intros) was performed live on guitar by Paddy Jordan and unfortunately we didn’t record it. Thus, there will be nine rounds on the site over the coming days.
